Perpetuate Life, Liberty, and The Pursuit of Happiness |
Who were the 5 Riders?Under cover of darkness on April 18th, 1775, there were 5 Riders who dispatched via horse back in order to provide warning to the colonists of the approach and movement of the British forces. There were four men and one woman that night and many others that followed in years to come, alerting the early Americans of what dangers lay ahead. Paul Revere was made to be the most famous of these riders in large part due to the epic poem written by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, entitled "Paul Revere's Ride". The other riders that night included Samuel Prescott, Israel Bissell, William Dawes, and Sybil Ludington. Who are the 5Riders today? Established in 2020, the 5Riders continues to engage with Americans with a mission to perpetuate Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. These three principles were first presented to the young country and the world in the Declaration of Independence, written by the Committee of Five, as examples of unalienable rights given to mankind by their Creator and which governments were created to protect. What makes our approach different? We are different in a variety of ways from other organizations that support similar topics. We recognize that the ideology we believe in has been under promoted for generations and as a result it will take a new strategy to re-engage with citizens to regain the ground that has been lost. Understanding that people are dynamic and that we are best engaged with when we are met where we are The 5Riders will use an infinite strategy to work together with other like minded people and organizations to coordinate to our strengths. We believe that the mission to perpetuate Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness is on going, does not have a timeline. The ulimtate objective is to preserve the quest for a better life and country. The ideas associated with the founding of our country are bigger than any one person, party or period of time. Building a better life for ourselves and our families is a personal responsibility and that ability is protected by our Constitution and does not reflect a guarantee of outcome but of access. | From History Today and into the Future |
